Male Sexual Health

Urology training includes comprehensive coverage of male sexual health functioning, and proper evaluation and treatment of any disorders. This, along with our fellowship-trained male sexual health expert, is what sets us apart from others who may claim to offer similar services.

The methods used by Wisconsin Institute of Urology are endorsed by the American Urological Association and are within the scope of practice and expertise of highly trained urologists. We do not promote anti-aging therapies or other treatment options that have not been rigorously tested and scientifically validated.

Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction, also known as impotence, is the inability to achieve and maintain erections sufficient for intercourse. Approximately 15 million to 30 million men in the United States experience chronic erectile dysfunction. The providers at Wisconsin Institute of Urology offer several options for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. The treatments include medical therapy (oral medication, urethral suppositories, and penile injections), vacuum erection devices (VEDs), and implantation of a penile prosthesis.

Male Infertility

If you are unable to conceive a child after one year of unprotected intercourse, you may have male infertility. Male factor infertility refers to the difficulty achieving a pregnancy caused by hormonal imbalances or alterations in sperm production and delivery from the male partner. More than 6 million couples in the United States are infertile. Infertility can be devastating to a couple.

Fortunately, Dr. Modder, in partnership with Wisconsin Institute of Urology, is proud to offer state-of-the-art evaluation and treatment options for male infertility. This includes a full evaluation of hormonal and testicular function as well as surgical options, including varicocele (dilated veins around the testicle) repair, testicular biopsy with possible sperm extraction, and vasectomy reversal.

Testosterone Therapy

Testosterone is a male hormone produced in the testicles. It is responsible for the proper development of male sexual characteristics. Testosterone is important to help maintain muscle mass, adequate red blood cells, bone growth, a sense of well-being, and proper sexual function. Hypogonadism is a disorder where the body does not produce normal amounts of testosterone. This is due to a problem inside the testicles or the pituitary gland that helps regulate the testicles. Testosterone therapy can improve the signs and symptoms of low testosterone in these men.

Peyronie’s Disease

Peyronie’s is hardened scar tissue (plaque) that can be felt just beneath the skin of the penis. This can cause a curvature of the penis with erections that may or may not make sexual intercourse difficult. This may also cause pain during erections and erectile dysfunction.
