Your Pediatric Urologist

Many children have illness or diseases that can affect their genitals or urinary tract, including their kidneys, ureters, and bladders. Our urologists have the experience and qualifications to treat children for many conditions, including undescended testicles, epispadias and hypospadias in males and urinary disorders in both sexes.

One of the most common problems we see in children is bedwetting. The medical term is enuresis. Bedwetting is very common and an estimated 5 million to 7 million American children wet their beds at night. Fortunately, most children outgrow the condition.

Helping Children Overcome Other Urologic Conditions

Some pediatric urologic conditions are congenital. Children can enter the world with undescended testicles, hydroceles, urine reflux, kidney blockage, hypospadias (the urethral opening is on the underside of the penis instead of the tip), or epispadias (rare birth defect where the urethra does not develop into a full tube, and urine exits the body from an abnormal location). Children may also get kidney stones, though less commonly than adults. Kidney stones can even occur in babies.
